Overview of the NABCO NS-A04 Sensor
The NABCO NS-A04 sensor is an advanced automatic door sensor from the new-generation N Search series, developed by NABCO (Japan) – a global leader in automatic door technology. The NABCO NS-A04 sensor combines motion detection with presence detection using near-infrared reflection, enabling rapid and precise identification of any movement within the detection area. With a maximum detection range of W 3.04m x D 2.37m (at 3.0m installation height) and installation height up to 4.0m, the device operates stably across various door types — from automatic sliding doors to curved and folding doors.
Features of the NABCO NS-A04
- Self-testing for sensors: The door system performs self-testing during every operation to check whether the sensor is working to properly detect the protected area.
- Fault indication on the sensor: If there is any problem with the components including the sensor, the safety mechanism will operate and the LED will start flashing to display “network component error” so that the building owner can easily grasp the current situation. In case the sensor displays a flashing LED, please contact your local NABCO distributor.
- Higher sensor area density: The denser sensor area density increases the certainty of detection and better response to potential risks near the door, preventing collisions between the door and pedestrians.
- With the “ECO mode” setting, the door system will judge the movement of pedestrians and after the pedestrian passes through the door, it will start closing the door earlier, contributing to energy saving.
- Touchless switching mode: In case the door is continuously opened unnecessarily due to continuous passing through the door, the setting can be changed to the touchless switching mode (basic module).
- With the Anti-Snow/Anti-Insect mode setting, the sensor provides stable operation by reducing unnecessary activation of flying insects and snow.
- Full-color LED lights display the operating status of the door in detail. The recommended replacement time is also notified.
Comparison: NABCO NS-A04 vs. previous models (NS-A01, NS-A02, NS-A03)
Compared with earlier N Search series models such as the NS-A01, NS-A02, and NS-A03, the NABCO NS-A04 shows significant improvements in performance and flexibility.
