Sonha Auto has recently completed the supply and installation of the NABCO automatic door system for the main terminal lobby of Chu Lai Airport—one of the key airports in Vietnam’s Central region. This scope of work is part of a smart entrance solution, contributing to improved operational efficiency and the modernization of passenger arrival and departure areas at the airport.
Chu Lai Airport – a key aviation infrastructure in the Central region
Chu Lai Airport, also known as Nui Thanh Airport (Quang Nam Province), plays an important connecting role between the South Central Coast provinces and the Central Highlands. It is one of the region’s major airports, serving the steadily growing demand for domestic air travel while also contributing to economic and tourism development across the area.
In recent years, passenger traffic through Chu Lai Airport has continued to increase, leading to higher demands on the organization and operation of terminal lobby areas—spaces with high pedestrian density and the first point of contact for passengers upon arrival. This situation has created an urgent need to upgrade entrance infrastructure, replacing conventional solutions with modern automatic door systems to ensure safety, operational stability, and well-organized traffic flow.

Chu Lai Airport upgrades its entrances with NABCO automatic door solutions
To meet the requirements for upgrading the terminal entrance infrastructure, Sonha Auto – the official distributor of NABCO automatic doors in Vietnam – coordinated with Tasco, the Central Region distributor, to implement the project installing automatic doors for Chu Lai Airport.
In this project, Tasco was responsible for the direct construction and installation of the door systems in full compliance with NABCO Japan’s technical standards. The technical team installed six NABCO V-150SL-S full-option automatic door sets in the terminal lobby, an area characterized by high usage frequency and the need for continuous 24/7 operation.

The NABCO V-150SL-S is a sliding automatic door model widely used in public facilities such as airports, terminals, and major transportation hubs thanks to its durable performance, stable operation, and high load-bearing capacity. The system is equipped with multi-layer safety sensors that accurately detect people and obstacles within the operating zone, ensuring smooth, safe opening and closing without disrupting passenger movement.
The application of automatic doors for airports not only helps reduce pressure on terminal lobby areas but also enhances the airport’s image toward a modern, professional appearance aligned with contemporary aviation operation standards.

After installation and commissioning, the NABCO automatic door system has delivered several clear benefits:
- Stabilized traffic flow: More effective passenger flow management in the terminal lobby, especially during peak hours.
- Improved passenger experience: Automatic doors allow convenient movement without direct contact with traditional doors, in line with today’s contactless operation trend.
- Reduced energy loss: Intelligent opening and closing mechanisms help minimize heat loss, support air-conditioning systems, and reduce operating costs.
- Enhanced terminal image: Modern automatic door solutions create a positive first impression for passengers as they enter the airport.
These outcomes not only meet practical operational requirements but also align with Chu Lai Airport’s development direction toward the standards of modern airports.
