NABCO automatic doors at Viettel Giang Van Minh Building – More than 20 years of durable operation

Installed in 2006, the NABCO automatic doors at Viettel Giang Van Minh Building in Hanoi have operated for more than two decades in a high-traffic office environment. When the building underwent lobby renovation, the existing doors were still operating stably and were replaced with NABCO V-150SL-S automatic sliding doors.

This is the latest real-world story in Sonha Auto’s “Proof over time” series, documenting the long-term operation of NABCO systems and their transition to a new generation of products.

More than 20 years of real-world operation of NABCO automatic doors

Put into operation in 2006, the NABCO automatic sliding doors at Viettel Giang Van Minh Building have served as the main entrance access system for the facility. This is an area with frequent usage, serving the daily access needs of employees, partners, and customers.

Notably, after more than 20 years of continuous operation, the original NABCO doors were still performing very well, operating smoothly and stably. The replacement was not prompted by malfunction or damage but was part of the lobby renovation and upgrade plan to align with the building’s new appearance and design. This real-world operating history was also one of the factors behind the decision to continue choosing NABCO for the building’s new automatic door system.

NABCO V-150SL-S automatic sliding door solution for a modern lobby

During this renovation, Sonha Auto surveyed the existing conditions and installed the NABCO V-150SL-S automatic sliding door system, combined with the NABCO NS-A01 intelligent safety sensor.

The system features a configuration of 120 kg × 2 leaves, selected based on the door leaf load, entrance dimensions, and actual operating conditions in the lobby area. For office buildings with high access frequency, these are also important factors to consider when selecting automatic doors for buildings and developing an entrance solution for office buildings.

CAN communication technology

The NABCO V-150SL-S is equipped with the latest CAN-bus communication technology, allowing components within the system to exchange data continuously in real time. This technology enables the central controller to accurately identify the operating status, respond instantly to door movement, and maintain synchronized and smooth opening and closing.

The system uses Urethane rollers combined with an aluminum rail featuring integrated stainless steel reinforcement. This structure supports stable door movement along the rail and helps limit wear during frequent opening and closing. This is one of the technical factors that should be considered when selecting automatic doors for buildings with high usage frequency.

Bluetooth connectivity via PDA

The NABCO V-150SL-S supports Bluetooth connectivity with a handheld mobile device (PDA), allowing technicians to check parameters and retrieve operating history without opening the technical box cover. This feature helps make inspection and periodic maintenance faster and more convenient while preserving the aesthetics of the lobby space.

Entrance solution for office buildings based on real project experience

At Viettel Giang Van Minh Building, the selection of automatic doors for buildings was considered in relation to both actual operating requirements and the renovation plan for the space. The existing system had been in use for more than 20 years in an area with frequent access before being replaced to suit the new lobby design.

An entrance solution for office buildings also needs to be considered based on pedestrian traffic, door dimensions and door leaf load, opening and closing frequency, installation space, and the maintenance plan. Automatic sliding doors are one suitable option for lobby areas with frequent pedestrian movement, allowing users to enter and exit without directly operating the door leaves.

The upgrade of the NABCO automatic doors at Viettel Giang Van Minh Building demonstrates the transition from a system that had operated for more than 20 years to the NABCO V-150SL-S as part of the latest renovation. This also reflects the spirit of the “Proof over time” series – documenting the value of NABCO door systems through real-world operating conditions at actual projects.

What should be checked when assessing automatic doors after years of use?

After years of operation, automatic doors may show signs such as irregular opening and closing, unusual noise, or inaccurate sensor responses. However, these symptoms alone are not enough to identify the cause or conclude that the equipment has deteriorated. Therefore, assessing automatic doors after years of use requires an evaluation of the actual condition of […]

What does an automatic door maintenance log reveal about equipment condition?

During operation, automatic doors may require inspection, adjustment, or component replacement depending on their actual condition. Assessing a door at a single point in time makes it difficult for facility managers to understand previous issues and how they were addressed. An automatic door maintenance log organizes records of inspections, repairs, and items requiring further monitoring. […]

How to choose an automatic window motor based on size, weight and opening type

Choosing an automatic window motor involves more than simply considering the window’s dimensions or weight.
