INSTALLATION OF NABCO AUTOMATIC DOORS AT TERMINAL T2 NOI BAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Project overview of Terminal T2 – A key national aviation infrastructure

Terminal T2 – Noi Bai International Airport is one of Vietnam’s key national transportation projects, serving as a symbolic representation of the friendly cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan. The project was invested with nearly VND 13,700 billion from Japanese ODA funds, commenced on December 4, 2011, and was officially put into operation on January 4, 2015, after nearly three years of construction completed on schedule.

Terminal T2 has a total floor area of 139,216 m², comprising four modern levels designed in accordance with international standards. The terminal is environmentally friendly and maximizes the use of natural light. Its operational capacity reaches 10 million passengers per year during the 2015–2020 period and 15 million passengers per year during the 2020–2030 period, helping to relieve congestion at Terminal T1 and enhance the overall operational capacity of Noi Bai International Airport.

Sonha Auto delivers smart entrance solutions for Terminal T2

Following the Terminal T1 expansion project, Sonha Auto continued to be trusted and selected as the contractor to implement NABCO automatic door solutions for Terminal T2 at Noi Bai International Airport, contributing to an improved passenger experience and optimized operations for this modern international aviation facility.

At the terminal, more than 100 sets of NABCO automatic sliding doors have been installed in key areas such as the main halls, entrances and exits, first-aid rooms, smoking rooms, and various other functional spaces throughout the terminal.

NABCO automatic doors in specialized areas – enhancing user experience

In particular, the restrooms for people with disabilities at Terminal T2 – Noi Bai are equipped with NABCO automatic doors integrated with the dedicated HDS-4P restroom control unit, optimizing convenience, privacy, and safety for users. The accompanying support switch system won the Japan Innovative Design Award in 2009 and features several outstanding functions, including:

• Light-touch buttons with an actuation force of only 5N
• Audible feedback upon operation
• Easily recognizable green LED indicators
• Antibacterial coated surface
• Backlit indicators guiding the next operation step

These details contribute to enhancing service quality and demonstrate a strong commitment to the experience of all passenger groups.

Surpassing many other brands, NABCO automatic doors were chosen for the Terminal T2 project thanks to their high safety standards, intelligent technology, durable operation, and environmental friendliness.
