INSTALLATION OF NABCO AUTOMATIC DOORS AT NOI BAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Terminal T1 – Noi Bai International Airport

Expansion Project of Terminal T1

As part of the aviation infrastructure upgrade plan, the expansion project of Terminal T1 – Noi Bai International Airport – officially went into operation at the end of 2013. With a total investment of VND 500 billion, the project added a modern E lobby, increasing the terminal’s passenger capacity by an additional 3 million passengers per year.

The entire building covers a floor area of 25,000 m² and features 3 above-ground floors and 1 mezzanine, including 5 departure gates and 2 arrival gates. This design creates a spacious and well-ventilated terminal, enhancing convenience for passengers. The operation of E lobby not only helped reduce congestion across the airport but also significantly improved service quality, offering passengers a modern, civilized, and comfortable experience from the moment they enter the largest airport in northern Vietnam.

Son Ha Auto Installs NABCO Automatic Door System at Terminal T1 of Noi Bai Airport

For this important project, Son Ha Auto was selected to supply and install the NABCO (Japan) automatic door system across the entire passenger lobby. The system includes 5 departure doors and 2 arrival doors, fully meeting the strict technical standards required for a modern airport terminal.

NABCO automatic doors, a leading Japanese brand, are renowned for their modern design, reliable operation, high safety, and ability to handle constant heavy usage. Notably, they feature multi-layered safety sensor systems, fast opening/closing, and energy-saving functionality—making them ideal for large-scale facilities such as airports, shopping centers, and high-end hotels.

Terminal T2 – Noi Bai International Airport

Overview of the Terminal T2 Project

Terminal T2 – Noi Bai International Airport is a national key project and a symbol of the friendship between Vietnam and Japan. Located less than 1 km from Terminal T1, the project was built with an investment of nearly VND 13,700 billion sourced from Japanese ODA. It began construction on December 4, 2011, and officially opened on January 4, 2015, after nearly 3 years of on-schedule development.

Covering a floor area of 139,216 m² with 4 modern levels, the terminal was designed to be environmentally friendly, utilizing natural light efficiently while meeting international standards. It is capable of serving up to 10 million passengers per year (2015–2020) and 15 million per year (2020–2030), helping to reduce pressure on Terminal T1 and enhancing the overall capacity of Noi Bai International Airport—Vietnam’s key aviation gateway.

SON HA AUTO Delivers Smart Entrance Solutions to Enhance Experience at Terminal T2 – Noi Bai International Airport

SON HA AUTO is proud to deliver smart entrance solutions for Terminal T2 – Noi Bai International Airport, enhancing the user experience and optimizing operations for one of the country’s key transportation infrastructure projects.

At Terminal 2, more than 100 NABCO automatic doors have been installed at key locations such as main lobbies, entrances and exits, first aid rooms, and smoking areas. Notably, the restrooms designated for people with disabilities are also equipped with NABCO doors, accompanied by specialized restroom control units that optimize convenience, privacy, and provide maximum support for users. These areas are equipped with assistive switch systems that received the 2009 Japan Innovative Design Award, featuring a range of advanced functions:

• Light-touch button requiring only 5N of force
• Audible “blip” sound upon contact
• Easy-to-see green LED indicator
• Antibacterial-coated surface
• Backlit interface to guide the next operation

Surpassing many competitors, NABCO automatic doors were selected for the Noi Bai Airport project thanks to outstanding features such as exceptional safety, smart technology, long-lasting performance, and environmental friendliness.

Previously, NABCO automatic doors distributed by SON HA AUTO were also trusted and installed in other major airports across Vietnam, including Cat Bi Airport – Hai Phong, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, and Cam Ranh Airport — reaffirming the brand’s quality, reliability, and proven experience in executing automatic door systems for national-level infrastructure projects.
